Foundation gives $45,000 to Children’s Hospital at Albany Med

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A local group of physicians received a reward on Tuesday for their efforts at Albany Medical Center.

The Nick’s Fight to be Healed Foundation donated $45,000 to the Children’s Hospital at Albany Med. The money will go to support a childlife specialist position at the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders.

The money will also be used to buy televisions, iPads, and other gadgets for an activity room specifically geared toward teenagers.

“We’ve decided the inpatient was already established,” Nick’s Fight to be Healed President and Co-Founder Janine Cammarata said. “The outpatient is kinda something new, so we’ll be doing more fundraising. We also, each month, we regularly donate new DVDs and video games for both floors, so that’s something we’ve always done.”

Nick’s Fight to be Healed Foundation has raised more than $300,000 for the children’s hospital since 2008.
